Shadows of Sisterhood

The Sun peeked again this morning

And you are not here

Again and again I try to erase you from my memory

However way I can

Ditch your clothes

Cut our pictures

No method works here

We were friends

More than that

We were sisters

I could go forever trying to diminish your existence

But the young girls of us still have conversations in my head

They are laying on my bed

Telling stories of what could be

They don’t resent each other

Cause they don’t know what that means

They are sleepy

Relaxed after a long day of dancing

That’s what I wish we could be now

I hope this is all a terrible dream

I could tell you about in the morning
