Sudden Silence

Buried bones

Untouched soul

Your face stays the same in the pictures i have

Your heart grew too old

Your days were limiting

And you didn’t even know

And before we prepared to say goodbye

You were gone like a light

Slowly losing your breath

Your heart begging to stop

But you were a fighter

You fought till the battle was lost

I screamed loud enough for the birds to hear

I cry, more than my eyes can bear

And i still hear you

Like you're always near

I still smell you

Your scent lingers in the air

You told me you'll always be here

Around me wherever i go

Because you never really left

It was your body that needed a rest

And you wipe the tears streaming down my cheek

Cause you never want me to be in despair

But you don't understand that i'll always mourn for you

Even if you're still here
